This website belongs to The Lab Restaurant (Pty) Ltd, 281 Main Road, Walmer, Gqeberha. We have kept it simple on purpose: the site does not use cookies, has no accounts, and stores no personal information of its own.

Reserving a table and ordering takeout

The reservation and takeout forms run entirely on your phone or computer. When you finish, the site writes a WhatsApp message for you and opens WhatsApp; nothing is sent until you press send there, and the website keeps no copy. From that point the conversation is between you and TheLAB on WhatsApp, under WhatsApp’s own terms.

A takeout order you have started is remembered in your browser so it survives a page change. It never leaves your device, and clearing the order removes it.

Lab Notes by email

If you join Lab Notes, your first name and email address are delivered to TheLAB’s inbox by a form-delivery service. We use them for one thing: to send you our news and offers by email. We do not share or sell them. Every message tells you how to stop, and you can also ask us at any time using the address below.

Specials on WhatsApp

Choosing “Get specials on WhatsApp” opens WhatsApp. You decide whether to send the message or follow the channel, and you can leave whenever you like.

Visitor statistics

We count visits with a privacy-friendly analytics tool that sets no cookies and builds no profile of you. It records which pages and menu sections are viewed, which buttons are pressed, the type of device, the website you came from and an approximate town. It does not record your name, phone number, email address or anything you type into a form, and your IP address is not stored.

Your rights

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you may ask what information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to marketing. Write to reservations@thelabrestaurant.co.za and we will help. If you are not satisfied, you may contact the Information Regulator of South Africa.
